Membership Policy

Photographs and Video - Photographs and video will be taken of your child during Ballysillan Youth for Christ activities. These will be used for internal and external promotional purposes including being shared on social media; on Ballysillan Youth for Christ and Youth for Christ NI websites, and Youth for Christ publications.

If you do not give consent for photographs and video to be taken of your child, we will work to ensure your child does not appear in any group photos or videos. This should be communicated to us via annual membership consent forms or via email - ballysillanyfc@thebluehouses.org. Photographs and videos of your child are used in line with our child protection policy.

Social Media and Contacting your child - Only relevant for year 8+ Staff will accept friend requests and contact your child on Facebook and similar social media platforms as well as texting your child for the specific purposes of informing them of programmes and activities with Ballysillan Youth for Christ. This is an effective way of keeping young people updated on what is happening at the Bluehouses. Social media and text communication between staff and young people is monitored by the Centre Co-ordinator.

If you do not give consent for staff to be friends with and contact your child on Facebook and similar social media platforms or text your child this should be communicated to us via annual membership consent forms or via email - ballysillanyfc@thebluehouses.org. Use of social media with your child is used in line with our child protection policy.

Travel - For off-site activities staff and volunteers will always endeavor to ensure two leaders are in the vehicle with young people, however this is not always possible. If you do not give consent for your child to travel in leader’s cars for Ballysillan Youth for Christ activities we will ensure this does not happen. This should be communicated to us via annual membership consent forms or via email - ballysillanyfc@thebluehouses.org. Arranging transport for your child is used in line with our child protection policy.

First Aid and Medical Consent - First aid will be administered on your child where necessary and emergency hospital treatment will be administered for your child in the case where the legal parent/guardian and the second contact cannot be contacted and where this is advised by a medical professional.

If you you do not give consent for first aid to be administered / emergency medical consent to be made on your behalf for your child if you cannot be contacted please make this known through annual membership form or email - ballysillanyfc@thebluehouses.org and this will be followed up
